SOIL AND SOUL - WILDWOODS COMMUNITY FARM

Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University Photography Intensive

With 11 photographers, we paired up in teams in the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University Summer Photography Intensive in the summer of 2018. Tracy Watts and I were at Wildwoods Community Farm. Our task was to give an insight into the daily life on this farm via 12 photos. Tiny houses around the farm.

Cherry Lynne the owner of the place.

Brandon Shell manages the land.

They a run a community farm on the land.

This woman was sentenced to public serveice for speeding. She had the right to choose a place to serve the sentence.

Since she activily supports her own community, she liked the idea to give a helping hand at this farm.

Brandon lives on the farm and runs Airbnb.

The new guests have arrived.

Spending a night far from the city.

After a couple of months, I went back to the farm to take pictures for Brandon to provide new photos for his Airbnb site.
